The single largest user base that WhatsApp has is based in India. More than 10% of 2 billion WhatsApp users are in India. That’s around 200 million users right there. So the smart folks at Red Chilies Entertainment came up with the idea to release WhatsApp stickers to promote Zero. Hence making it the first Bollywood movie to introduce stickers. And it sure feels like working. The stickers are already available for Android, with iOS version coming soon.
It’s been a month since WhatsApp rolled out the long awaited feature – stickers. And the feature is hugely popular already. Not just among the users, but for marketers too – who have found a cool new way to market. It’s a perfect fit for Bollywood, to reach the younger, movie goers through the channel they are more likely to use. We can expect more brands following suit.
Zero’s Stickers are mostly based around Shah Rukh’s character “Bauua Singh”. These witty stickers will surely spice up your conversations. And would promote the movie in the process. That’s the whole point of it.
It has very limited collection as of now. But they have promised to add more soon. Maybe there will be more Stickers ft. Aafia Yusufzai of Anushka Sharma, or Katrina Kaif’s Babita Kumari. Guess we will have to wait and find out.
Fans are already loving the Bauua Singh stickers though. Seems like Shah Rukh Khan’s charm is working through this new marketing technique.
